FilmBath Festival

If you like great films, then welcome home: this is the place for you.

Every November the beautifully inventive city of Bath in SW England is filled with film fans coming together for 11 indulgent days of previews, Bath debuts, special events, Q&As, documentary features, silent films with new live scores, shorts and of course the IMDb Awards.

The 2019 festival features an enticing programme of 37 feature films, including 23 previews, as well as 46 short films. 59% of our films are directed by women and 22 are F-Rated, of which 13 are Triple F-Rated – ie directed by, written by, and starring women.

Major previews include our opening night film, The Report – a post-9/11 true-story political thriller with an all-star cast led by Adam Driver, Annette Bening, and Jon Hamm. Our closing night film is Jojo Rabbit, Taika Waititi’s anti-hate satire that was the audience award winner at Toronto and is tipped to be an Oscar favourite. It won’t be on general release until January 2020, but you can see it at FilmBath Festival in November.
