SRA welcomes work experience students

Nurturing new talent and making our team feel welcome is of huge importance to us here at SRA. With this philosophy at the forefront of our mind, we had a great week with work experience students Oliver and Amy, as they completed their work experience placements with us. Amy is a year 12 sixth former studying at Hayesfield mixed sixth form, and Oliver is a year 10 at Ralph Allen School in Bath.

The students were asked to pick a site of their choice and design an artist’s studio with a living and working space for the artist and a gallery and café for the public. They then presented their designs at the end of the week, which we were all incredibly impressed with. Some examples can be viewed below.

They then had to give a presentation at the end of the week, and we were incredibly impressed at the designs they came up with, some example of which can be seen below.

It was a pleasure to work with Oliver and I am sure if he pursues a career in architecture he would be very well suited to it.

Everyone at SRA really enjoyed having both Amy and Oliver in the office with us, and they proved themselves very well equipped to take on the next phase of their life and the future world of work that lies ahead of them. Good luck for the future!

It was really great to work with such enthusiastic and creative students! Amy had no prior experience of the programs used but she dived straight in and produced a creative and well-considered design. I wish her all the best with her applications to university!
