Consultant Architect
Andrew first joined the Practice in 2014, becoming an Associate Architect in 2015. Since 2020, he has worked as a Consultant Architect for SRA and a tutor on the undergraduate and postgraduate Architecture courses at the University of Edinburgh.
His portfolio spans research, manufacturing, residential, commercial, office development, and public housing. He has a depth and breadth of architectural knowledge, which includes site management experience. This combined expertise enables him to overcome construction challenges and inform robust, creative designs.
Andrew places a high value on the process of learning, questioning and following up possibilities. He sets the bar high for himself and for those he tutors and mentors. When he is not working on architectural projects, he pursues his love of music and art. He is currently working on his PhD in Sonic Arts; co-producing sound art framed by the canals of Scotland. This community engagement project, in partnership with Scottish Canals, seeks to work with and empower local communities to experience places that are important to them in new ways.
“I use my knowledge of construction techniques to inform strong conceptual designs, but problem-solving is always part of the project. It’s something I relish; it challenges me to refine the design right up to completion.”
