Building Intelligence defines our dual focus: we have a deep expertise in building design and delivery, and we’re committed to continuous learning and refinement to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. We deliver buildings that are compliant, sustainable, and buildable. And we never stop learning how to do this better.

Sustainable Design
Good architecture should be simple, elegant, and a pleasure to use. Aligned with B Corp principles and Architects’ Declare, we deliver projects that are purposeful and have lasting environmental, social, and economic impact.
Our Passivhaus capability enables us to deliver ultra-low-energy buildings, whether pursuing full certification or significantly reducing operational energy and carbon emissions. With our technical knowledge and procurement expertise, we provide creative solutions for each project that balance performance, longevity, and cost.

Technical Excellence
Early technical thinking ensures designs are ambitious, buildable, and efficient. We seek to identify opportunities to improve cost, material, and programme efficiency without compromising creativity and design quality. Our technical capability supports assessments and due diligence, providing clear advice that reduces risk and enables successful project delivery.
Compliance and Safety
We have a clear understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management. Safety is embedded from inception through to completion.
As CDM Principal Designer, we identify, assess, and manage risks collaboratively. We conduct thorough risk assessments and, with clients, contractors, and consultants, develop mitigation strategies to integrate safety throughout the design process.
As Building Regulations Principal Designer, our projects are compliant with current regulations and statutory requirements. We provide comprehensive compliance oversight, coordinate information, and collaborate to achieve the highest standards and smooth project progression.
Building Information Modelling (BIM)
BIM and advanced 3D visualisations transform complex technical information into immersive real-life representations, that are translated into usable building maintenance schematics.
BIM underpins how we design, coordinate, and deliver buildings. It brings architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors into a connected digital environment, improving clarity, reducing risk, and supporting faster, better‑informed decisions.
Detailed 3D models enable early testing, coordination, and refinement. We can identify clashes, optimise layouts, and reduce costly construction changes. Our ISO 19650 accreditation reinforces rigorous information management and output quality.
We Build Intelligently
From a building’s concept to completion, we combine our expertise in sustainable design, technical delivery, regulatory compliance, and digital collaboration to create buildings that perform. Whether you’re developing a new project, refurbishing an existing building, or need technical due diligence, we deliver practical, intelligent solutions that work.
Our approach to the use of AI
We recognise that the use of AI offers great opportunities; however, our Practice approach to using it is cautious.
We’ve always sought to make the architectural journey simple, rewarding, and enjoyable for our clients and the design team. Relationships matter to us. They are built on trust, honesty, and learning together.
So, we want to be open and honest about how and when we are using it.
When we might use generative AI
• On work that demands a quick response, we might use it to suggest first drafts of text, generate examples, and summarise material.
• At times, we may use it for brainstorming, copyediting, idea reformulation, and pattern detection in data we already understand.
For these tasks, we currently only use Microsoft 365 Copilot Assistant with Enterprise Data Protection (EDP).
We are always the final judge of any AI-generated content.
The ever-changing future
We recognise that certain tasks and procedures could be streamlined and perhaps better governed by AI agents and other technologies. We have a task group assessing where this could add value, as well as the security and suitability of the technologies.
Our reassurance to clients
• We intend that all AI tools will sit alongside our daily work, contributing only when invited and remaining silent otherwise.
• If we find appropriate, genuinely supportive roles for AI within the Practice, we’ll let you know when we’re using them.
• The real job of Architecture is being done by those who’ve been through years of learning, refining their practice through academic training, on the job and in real life, not on training data.
