Laboratory Consultant
After graduating from Liverpool University in 1984 with a degree in Architecture, Chris’s career has focused on the design and development of safe, effective and future-ready technical and laboratory spaces. Having previously been a full-time member of staff, he now works for SRA as a Specialist Laboratory Consultant.
Chris has been involved at various levels in a wide range of projects, from developing a brief through to fit-out and operational delivery. His portfolio includes clean room and laboratory facilities for hightech, biotech, and research-driven sectors, including ISO Class 8 and ISO Class 7 environments for production, satellite technology, and specialist biotech applications.
Additionally, Chris brings expertise in integrating advanced features including hermetically sealed access, pressure cascades, ATEX environments, low-humidity and UV-C protection together with liaison relating to the installation of specialised laboratory equipment. His experience covers both mechanical and electrical laboratory requirements, ensuring compliant, high-performance spaces that support sensitive processes such as lyophilisation, product handling, and the manipulation of ultra-fine natural biomaterials for innovative medical and scientific solutions.
