Detailed design posed a number of creative challenges: Always tricky to achieve in an existing structure, we’ve been able to apply the current Jaguar Land Rover design identity to the building. We’ve also overcome factors such as designing around underground services and very unpredictable ground conditions.
When complete the one hectare site will accommodate an 18-car showroom, customer handover bays for each brand, service drive-in, a 21-bay workshop, and valeting facilities.
With Jaguar and Land Rover vacating other sites in Cardiff, the redevelopment at Hadfield Road enables Pendragon to expand and reconfigure their existing portfolio of dealerships in Cardiff. Parts of the works involve the relocation of Evans Halshaw Citroën (also part of Pendragon PLC), to East Bay Close, another SRA project.
SRA Architects and Pendragon PLC are looking to the future and already have several other exciting redevelopment projects in South Wales.
