B-Corp Impact Report
/We’re about people and purpose
At SRA, our team culture really matters to us. Creating an enjoyable, collaborative, and supportive working environment is a priority. It’s been this way for over 30 years.
Each person brings their own unique perspective, and we thrive in exchanging ideas, learning from one another, and sharing in each other's successes. Our spirit of togetherness inspires us every day and shapes our aspirations as a practice. We also believe in building strong, collaborative relationships with our clients so that together, we can help them achieve their vision through our creative, open approach.
We integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) responsibilities into our daily work, guided by our carbon-reduction plan and as signatories to UK Architects Declare.
Three years as a B Corp. And the journey continues.
SRA’s decision to pursue B Corp certification in 2020 formalised values that have guided our practice for decades: putting people first, supporting communities, and designing responsibly for future generations.
Receiving our B Corp certification in 2023 was an opportunity to benchmark our efforts, deepen our commitments, and join a growing global community of like-minded businesses.
This month, we’re celebrating 3 years of being a B Corp!
B Corps are assessed on the full spectrum of a business’s social and environmental impact: Governance, Workers, Environment, Customers, and Community. Openness and transparency are core to our ethos, and we remain committed to sharing our B Corp journey with you. As we enter the final year of this B Corp cycle, our focus is on embedding learning and accelerating action.
Our key priorities include:
Recertification: Understanding and integrating the new B Corp standards to ensure long-term alignment.
People: Reviewing and enhancing staff policies and benefits.
Continuous improvement: Pursuing initiatives that support our wider goals, including reducing emissions, strengthening supply chain sustainability, and adopting sustainable building materials.
Supplier specification: Prioritising and recommending construction solutions and products which align with our ESG values.
Conscious purchasing: Exploring new markets and partnering with suppliers that specialise in low-carbon, fair-trading, sustainable products, technologies, materials, and logistics.
It’s who we’ve always been and always want to be
SRA’s Impact Report reflects who we are and the direction we’re heading. It reinforces that architectural practice can, and should, be a force for good. It celebrates the people and the communities we work with and serve. And it acknowledges that while we’ve made meaningful progress, our journey toward deeper sustainability and social value continues.
