IKEA
IKEA. A household name, instantly recognisable and famous for its simple yet sophisticated product range, inspired by the Swedish philosophy of creating a better everyday life for the many people. Renowned for its commitment to combining form, function, quality, sustainability, and affordability, IKEA is also a complex and highly commercial client, seeking best value and minimal waste throughout all aspects of project delivery.
Always consistent. Always unique.
We’ve undertaken a wide range of projects throughout our 30-year-long relationship with IKEA.
A core value for IKEA is to make a positive difference for people and the planet. These principles shape our design and delivery on every project. We’ve created new stores, refurbished existing ones, innovated logistics, and implemented simplified solutions, always guided by IKEA’s brand principles and user research. IKEA Brighton exemplifies the brand’s mission to make life better for the many by delivering urban stores within Ingka Meeting Places.
Creating places and spaces
Over the years we’ve designed new-build stores that consistently reflect IKEA’s global standards while adapting to local needs. These out-of-town locations highlight sustainability practices, such as those demonstrated at IKEA Greenwich, and reinforce brand presence in diverse contexts.
Refurbishment projects required us to update the building’s exterior and, crucially, improve the customer experience to ensure the customer journey remains as easy, enjoyable, and accessible as IKEA intends. Adding Click and Collect services has expanded customer access to products and required store adaptations to facilitate direct delivery of online purchases.
Bringing ‘home’ to meeting spaces
IKEA remains committed to innovation and convenience, continually reviewing its portfolio to meet customer needs. In August 2025, IKEA Brighton opened inside Churchill Square Shopping Centre. This store is one of IKEA’s first UK city-centre locations within an Ingka Centre, marking a strategic milestone in IKEA’s current strategy to bring its iconic home furnishing range closer to where the many people live, work, and shop.
The delivery behind the design
IKEA benchmarks each store globally to maintain best practices and align every project with sustainability and efficiency goals. Reviews cover finish quality, build time, costs, energy use, and turnover, supporting operational and environmental priorities.
As part of this benchmarking, programmes are optimised to ensure timely delivery. All supporting activities, including retail fit-out, recruitment, PR, stock orders, and funding, are coordinated to prioritise on-time project completion.
Learning together
Our ongoing partnership with IKEA fosters continuous learning and improvement, drawing on IKEA’s values of togetherness, cost-consciousness, and sustainability. Each project leads us to deliver innovative solutions, with a focus on exceeding delivery expectations in speed and efficiency.
